Get Oriented
Step 4: Participate in the New Student Orientation
The purpose of the orientation is to ease any anxieties you may have about college.
-
We cover new and unfamiliar college terms, important dates, and campus policies.
-
You’ll also have a chance to sit with someone from KCC for help in registering for your courses.
-
This is also an opportunity to meet new people – fellow students, instructors, and academic advisors/counselors.
Please contact our First-Year Experience office at 808.734.9245 or kapstart@hawaii.edu for more information.

What did you learn at the New Student Orientation?
Where things were on campus was the most important.
I learned that the campus is small; not large and impersonal.
I went to the culinary arts NSO and learned about the program, my instructors and counselors, and my new classmates.
I got a better sense of the campus, and met some new people.
